definitions

.scapesis a project for the exploration of landscapes. The aim of .scapes is the analysis of landscapes as phenomena of space.

Working from the original meaning of landscape as a depiction of an area subject to mechanisms and the rules of perception, the enquiry will explore different levels of complexity, where territories, which are different from those commonly referred to as landscapes, aquire a pictographic quality rich in meaning.

.scapes dares to go into the realms of graphic symbols and landscape icons, shows their character as well as their design patterns and aims make accessible:

• New approaches to landscapes and new intstruments for semantic shifting
  
• New keys to space intervention as conscious creation of landscapes
• The transformation of the pictograph into an instrument for the creation of seperate carriers of meaning (self iconing)
