The local art scene is full of surprises. Not only artists born in the fifties – like Rudolf Stingel and Walter Niedermayer – are internationally successful. Now, a group of young local artists is making a strong appearance. The contemporary art system has already noticed them.
   Merano arte wants to promote and accompany this upcoming scene. Therefore, the gallery has taken up this project and asked six outstanding artists from the region of Trentino Alto Adige to each invite an internationally renowned artist whom they do not know personally to jointly realize a work of art for the exhibition from_&_to at Merano arte with them. The exhibition will be shown from 6 October 2007 to 6 January 2008 and shall encourage the artistic quest and establish new connections.

Ivo Corrà will document the development of the project; his photographs will be published in a catalogue, created by Studio Granit.
